Cap-a-Pie has been working with Barbara Priestman Academy, Sunderland since 2009, developing innovative approaches to teaching and learning alongside staff and pupils.
In June 2016 Barbara Priestman Academy’s production of What Are They Like? was chosen out of 500 other companies to perform at the National Theatre Connections Festival at National Theatre, London.
The show was absolutely brilliant and we are very proud of the pupils and Brad McCormick from Cap-a-Pie who directed the show.
Cap-a-Pie has been working with Barbara Priestman Academy, Sunderland since 2009, developing innovative approaches to teaching and learning alongside staff and pupils. This long-term creative partnership has fostered professional development opportunities and placed creativity at the heart of school life.
The group have had much success, performing at Northern Stage in 2013 with the Mobile Phone Show as part of the National Theatre Connections, returning again in 2014 with their production of Angels by Pauline McLynn, in 2015 with The Accordion Shop by Cush Jumbo, in 2016 with What Are They Like? by Lucinda Coxon, in 2018 with Want and 2019 Flesh.
