Ruth Raynor
Ruth Raynor is a Senior Lecturer in Urban Planning at Newcastle University. Her interdisciplinary research focusses on:
1. The study and practice of performing arts for participatory social research.
2. Exploring emotions such as loss, grief, precarity and hope.
3. Exploring the impacts of social policy on peoples everyday lives.
Cutting across all these research areas is a specific focus on the significance of place. Ruth has shared this work nationally and internationally at conferences, in books and journal articles and is currently working on a theatre production exploring experiences of loss and grief during Covid-19.
