Ruth Raynor
Dr Ruth Raynor is Chair of the Board of Trustees at Cap-a-Pie and a writer, researcher and theatre-maker based in the North East. Her work brings together theatre, creative and participatory research and community engagement, with a particular interest in how performance can explore lived experience, place and social change. Her theatre work includes Diehard Gateshead, developed with women affected by austerity, and Grounded, created with women who lost loved ones during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ruth brings to Cap-a-Pie experience spanning the cultural and university sectors, alongside a longstanding commitment to collaborative, socially engaged theatre and to creating meaningful connections between artists, researchers and communities.
