Suzy O’Hara
Dr Suzy O’Hara is a curator and Lecturer in Digital Art and Enterprise at University of Sunderland School of Art, Design and Performance.
Her research explores interdisciplinary and collaborative models of art-making and curatorship and has been disseminated internationally in academic conferences and publications.
O’Hara has devised and tested experimental models of cross-sector curatorship between artists, sector specialists, multi-disciplinary researchers, industry partners and communities through large scale, funded public engagement projects including; SeaScapes Co/Lab – an art and natural heritage project for SeaScapes: Tyne to Tees shores and seas, funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund and One Cell at a Time , a digital art and science project, funded by Wellcome Trust for the global Human Cell Atlas scientific research project.
She is co-founder and research lead for Sunderland CoLab, an interdisciplinary research platform designed to broker new connections between art practice-based research, innovation and society and recent publications include Art Hack Practice: Intersections between Art, Innovation, and the Maker Movement (Routledge, 2019).
