Brad is a New Zealand actor/writer/director and facilitator now resident in Newcastle. Brad McCormick is the artistic director for Cap-a-Pie, developing a range of community projects and professional productions. He is the writer and performer of Cap-a-Pie’s ‘The Town Meeting’ and ‘The Important Man’ and directed the company’s latest show ‘Six Legs’.
Brad has also worked with Bristol’s Travelling Light Theatre Company to develop a solo show for children called ‘Sammy and the Snow Leopard’. ‘Sammy’ will tour nationally in 2017. In 2014 he created ‘The Fixer’, that takes place in a moving vehicle with just two audience members.
He received a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Acting) from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School. Brad has studied Commedia dell’Arte with maestro Antonio Fava in Italy, as well as clown, bouffon, vaudeville and neutral mask with John Bolton, a former student of Le Coq and Gaullier now based in Australia.
