Throughout the project we kept an open rehearsal policy whereby members of the community could come in and watch the play being devised and influence it’s production. This helped our main contributors feel involved at every stage. This way of working allowed us to be sensitive and considerate of contributors’ stories and created an open dialogue and shared practices.
The very first performance was for the contributors, many of which attend the Thursday Club at the Irish Centre. Although it as nerve wracking to perform peoples’ stories back to them it was really important to get their feedback and thoughts before we did a public showing.
